Following the circulation of an audio, remarks and images first by one ‘King Sports’ (and many others later) purporting to show FIOHTG staff engaging in the registration of students (below the voting age) in Barra-Essau Upper Basic School on behalf of Adama Barrow (NPP), our Director has released a statement dismissing the claims. Below is the full statement:

I hereby categorically state that FIOHTG is a non-partisan, non-religious national NGO, run by Gambians. As a national NGO operating in The Gambia for over 4 decades, one of our core roles is civic education and rights-based sensitisation in the areas we work. We operate under non-partisan and transparent framework. We have been conducting civic education activities since the last régime among other key interventions in this country and we will continue on our work in education through community development. Our interest is to see a highly vibrant society conscious of its political and civic rights. For more information on our work, please visit our website: or main office in Kotu South.
Thank you.
