Future In Our Hands The Gambia (FIOHTG), an organisation that aims to bring education closer to rural people and strengthen their capacity to fight poverty, Monday kick-started a five-day Planning Meeting to lay down plans ahead of 2024. The event was held at FIOHTG complex in Kotu South.
The objective of the meeting is to avail the units the opportunity to present their activity report, successes and challenges encountered.
In her opening remarks, Jainaba T. Sarr, the Country Director, FIOHTG posited that the planning meeting is to take stock of the success and challenges encountered during the year under review. There are several lessons learned during the 2023, we believed the lesson will serve as a catalyst for the growth of the organization.
She added that the organization has completed the year 1 of the school feeding program. We envisage for a robust implementation in the year 2.
“The luminos fund, Forum civ, Think Equal Project, CSO Watchdog project have made a significant stride on the lives and livelihood of the vulnerable communities, notably in the areas of capacity building of communities, youth empowerment, Civic education and social emotional learning amongst others”, Director Sarr stated.
The goodwill has been overwhelming during the courtesy call on some key stakeholders and most of them are ready to work with the organization.
Mr. Augustine Manneh, Construction Manager, Mr. Ebrima Drammeh, CDU Manager, Mr. Kebba Jobe from SDU, Yankuba Manneh, Fundraising Manager, Mr. Augustus Gomez, Service Unit, Mr. Kemo S. Kinteh, HR Manager and Mr. Cherno Ceesay, M&E Unit made a presentation on their unit activity reports, successes and challenges encountered.
