Future In Our Hands The Gambia (FIOHTG), through its Community Development Unit and with funding from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), has kicked off a weeklong Women’s Advocacy and Leadership Training in Mansakonko, Lower River Region (LRR).
The training aims to build the capacity of regional women’s advocacy groups in leadership and advocacy, while also preparing participants for a Regional Women’s Conference and an interface dialogue with duty bearers.
The training will cover a plethora of presentations and discussions on key issues, including women’s participation in socio-economic transformation and growth in The Gambia, inclusive social development, and gender equality.
Similarly, the training sessions are expected to be rolled out in the North Bank Region (NBR) and Central River Region (CRR) in the coming days.
The project demonstrates FIOHTG’s and Sida’s dedication to advancing women’s leadership and involvement in community development, as well as a more inclusive and gender-responsive society.
The training was facilitated by Dr. Abdoukabirr Daffeh and Yankuba Manneh.
