
Future In Our Hands The Gambia (FIOHTG) in collaboration with Youth Action for Food Self-Sufficiency and Education (YAFSEE), has commenced a weeklong training of traditional communicators on Vaccine and Immunisation Messaging held at Mansakonko in the Lower River Region.
The training is funded by GAVI-PIVUTAAL project seeks to equip traditional communicators with a requisite knowledge and skills to deliver culturally appropriate messages on vaccine and immunisation within communities.
The training envisages to improve community awareness, strengthen vaccine confidence and reduce misinformation for informed decision-making on immunisation.
The traditional communicators are expected to use local communication channels, songs, drama, storytelling, community announcements and dialogue platforms to disseminate appropriate messages on childhood immunisation.
The training was facilitated by EPI communication focal person and it’s regional staff.
